History

Our history dates back to the 1920’s when Silvio Anichini and his brothers immigrated to America from Lucca, a small town in the Tuscan region of Italy. The brothers opened a small grocery shop that soon included prime cuts of meats and high quality sausage. Anichini Brothers soon championed its competitors as the value leader in quality and service gaining its blue ribbon status.

Seizing an opportunity to expand into an emerging pizza market, Silvio and his son-in-law, Salvatore Gaddini created a sausage that was superior to its competitors in taste and quality. A generation later, Anichini Brothers continues to provide the same great-tasting sausage and top quality that has made us a Chicago favorite and the standard by which the Chicago pizza market is measured

Over the years, the company has expanded to include a wide variety of cheeses, tomatoes, flour, oil, and other pizza products. In 2008, Anichini Brothers has taken a new step toward expansion by becoming USDA certified, enabling us to share our superior knowledge of the pizza industry with the ever-expanding global market.
